My counselling approach is based on my training in two diploma level qualifications 'Humanistic Counselling' and the 'Human Givens'. My recent qualification for Stress Management can also offer a structured approach. This endeavours to help you gain self awareness about yourself and your coping strategies. It can also offer new ways of being which may be more effective. I offer unconditional positive regard, a place where you can explore your personal issues and feel heard. My philosophy is a belief that emotional difficulties stem from when individual needs and resources are not met or utilized. I undertake to help you as quickly as possible and do not delve unnecessarily into your past.I can offer techniques such as relaxation exercises to help bring down your anxiety level which can help you explore issues which may otherwise feel too painful to visit. I now also offer the Healing Rhythms biofeedback meditation training programme. This programme can help you understand how your body and mind affect each other and how breathing can help relaxation which in turn helps to bring down emotional arousal levels and help you think more effectively. Counselling sessions are client led therefore the agenda is whatever you choose to bring. |
